Luxurious Glitter fairy Emma glittering a beard at the LCD Cosmic Rodeo

Cannot believe this this was over a week ago now! This season sees the official launch of the Lucy Can’t Dance bridal collection - the Cosmic Rodeo - and we were pleased as punch when we were asked to bring along our glitter bar and temporary tattoos on the 2nd February. For those who haven’t seen any of Lucy’s collections, Lucy prides herself on “specialising in alternative wedding dresses, for non-traditional brides” and ladies and gents, her collections do just that – they’re amazing.

So, there we were, at Chelmsford’s new music venue, Hideaways, getting all set up and the night was absolutely packed out. From brides to be, to our Luxurious glitter bar, live music from Winston & The Lads and all of Lucy’s incredible quirky styling, the place was on absolute cosmic rodeo fire!

Here’s a little more from behind the team Luxurious scenes of this fantastic day and night…

Alongside Claire-Louise from Claire-Louise Hair, I was thrilled to be asked to style the model’s hair (if you haven’t seen our big sister site, that's where the hair comes from, check it out - Luxurious HB) – so, of course, it was an early start. It always is with hair! Zoe from Knot Your Average Bride was on makeup, along with the lovely Claire-Marie from Claire-Marie Makeup (yes, that’s THREE Claire’s backstage – funny but also hard work!). The models, as always, were super nice and great to work with and with all the sequins and sparkle surrounding us, we just knew our fab glitter bar was going to fit right in.

When Lucy puts on an event, she really on an event! I’m pretty sure you can see workings of her mind! She really puts her heart and soul into it which shows and makes it more of an experience! There were of course the giant signature LCD carnival lights along with an incredible giant sequin cactus from Rock The Day Styling and a fabulous cake from the Gourmet Cake Company. And us with our glitter bar, of course! Every little detail was covered – it was pure cosmic delight as far as the eye could see.

Lucy was after something a little different and extra to bring to the party, so we brainstormed and came up with the idea of running a temporary tattoo stand to run alongside our eco glitter bar. These little temporary tattoos went down a storm with the glitter and are definitely something we’ll be offering out to everyone as an extra to the glitter bar for future events (shout me if you want any more info on this!)

Fully customisable, we made up a selection for Lucy including her logo plus a really cool Ziggy Pop Cat. We ran out of these ones quite quickly and they all went down an absolute storm!

Emma and Nat didn’t stop! The glitter bar just worked so well. We had a few full-on glitter beards, glitter hero masks, love hearts, lightning bolts, half-moons and gems all going on – we were well and truly feeling the glitter love... check out the gallery below.

There’s only one more thing to add…
